The Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, adopted Rule 613 to create a comprehensive consolidated audit trail.  This allows regulators to track all activity throughout U.S. markets in National Market System (NMS) securities.  Along with other mandates, the rule requires that each national securities exchange and FINRA, as well as their respective industry members, provide certain detailed information in a central repository regarding each quote and order in a NMS security.  Each reportable event needs to include such information for the quote and order such as origination, modification, cancellation, routing and execution.  Oyster Consulting has trade reporting experts that specialize in CAT compliance and process.
